Delete your account

This page explains how to delete your TwoIn account (app published by [publisher or company name]) and what deletion erases. It is permanent: a deleted account cannot be recovered.
In the app (immediate)
- Open TwoIn and tap the Settings icon ⚙ at the top of the home screen.
- In the Account section, tap Delete my account.
- Tap Continue, type the confirmation word shown, then tap Delete permanently.
Deletion is immediate. Before deleting your account, you can export your data from the settings.
Without the app
If you no longer have the app or your phone, email [contact email] with the subject "TwoIn account deletion", giving the phone number or email address of your account.
To make sure nobody else deletes your account, we check that it is yours: we send a code to the account's phone number or email address for you to send back. Your account is then deleted within 30 days at most, and we confirm it by email.
What is deleted
- your sign-in account (phone number, email address, link to your Google account);
- your profile: display name, photo, status message;
- your Duos, for you and for your partners, with their wallpaper history and capsules (text, photos, voice messages);
- your invitations, notification preferences, presence and your devices' notification identifier;
- the list of registered contacts you had found.
What may be kept, and for how long
- Technical backups: your data may remain in database backups for up to 30 days, after which it is overwritten. Backups are only used to restore the service after a failure.
- Reports: a report you made, or one about you, may be kept for up to 1 year to protect users and respond to the authorities, without your profile.
- Legal obligations: if the law or an authority requires it (an ongoing investigation, for example), some data may be kept for the required time.
A wallpaper you sent that your partner already applied stays on their phone until they change it: it is an image stored by their phone, outside TwoIn. Likewise, anything they saved to their own gallery cannot be erased by us.
Erasing only some data
Without deleting your account, you can leave a Duo (its history and capsules are erased for both of you), edit your profile, or turn off presence sharing in the settings. For any other erasure request, email [contact email].
